Project story
With more than 15 years experience in the smart home business, there can be no doubt that Maven have the perfect credentials as a smart home installer. However, a string of successful completed projects and a busy order-book are no reason to rest on your laurels. Knowing this, the Maven team were keen to show off their company to future clients in the best possible way.
Their existing, rather ageing, website needed a refresh and so the Maven team contacted us because they knew we had just the expertise they needed. In addition, the new website had to be a great experience for both mobile and desktop visitors, the existing site having been built before mobile devices were as prevalent as they are today.
We got straight to work by first looking for a new, cleaner and bolder look for their online presence. While we retained the company logo and the company's key brand colours, we introduced clearer fonts and larger text treatments to bring the design right up to date.
The next consideration was the information architecture of the website. We designed a flowchart of how visitors should move easily through the site, gaining knowledge along the way. The focus of the visitor-journey being to let potential customers find answers to their key questions, whilst, at the same time, making sure to guide visitors through to the contact page to take things further. We organised and constructed each section of the resulting website to achieve that goal.
The Maven team then extended the project, asking us to generate text content for the final website build. They knew our expertise in the smart home field, and we were happy to offer this as an additional service.
The resulting website is built on an easy-to-use Content Management System (CMS), meaning the Maven team (or Presto staff) can easily build new pages or edit existing pages quickly and easily. This ensures the website can change and grow as needed, an important consideration for any website build, and particularly so for a growing business.
Working around the client's busy schedule, the entire project took approximately 16 weeks, with the new website launching in early April 2022.
