No matter what business you're in, there is usually a seasonal element to how busy you are. Retail stores tend to be busy in the run up to Christmas, while the travel and housing markets are busier in the Spring.
Businesses in electronics, particularly in AV, tend to be slower during the summer months, which leaves us a problem - and an opportunity! Assuming we’re not going to take the whole summer off for a holiday, what might we do with any extra time we find ourselves with?
When business is quiet, we tend to think more about marketing ourselves. When sales numbers are low, we naturally become more focused on increasing them to higher levels. Ideally, we should be marketing ourselves all the time, but marketing activities tend to get pushed to the bottom of the priority list when work is busy.
So, my advice is to not waste the slower, summer months. This is a great time to look at your marketing strategy for the upcoming year and put in place activities, communications, and other assets that you’ll need during the busier periods.
One thing you can (and we’d say ‘should’…) do during the summer is have a good look through your own website. Make sure all your information is up to date, add case studies for projects you’ve recently completed and maybe even consider a refresh or rebuild. The quieter months will give you the time you need to properly plan improvements to your website, and then your web developer can make any larger changes through your busier months while you’re busy focusing on other things.
If you need help, then we’re here! From content planning and generation to redesigns and rebuilds, websites are the complete focus of our business and we're only a call or email away.
